18 Aug Viva Las Vegas!
I’d love to share some of my personal adventures in Las Vegas with you … but as they say “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” Ok, fine, I’ll make an exception for the Las Vegas Furniture Market. I headed to Vegas to check out the latest trends and up-and-coming styles. What an adventure.
The next few posts will focus on my favourite parts of the show. The Vegas Market is a 5 day show that spans three buildings; 8-18 floors per building.
There are permanent showrooms for all of the major area rug suppliers of the US, furniture manufacturers from both Canada and the US as well as art, decorative glass companies, designers and distributors.
This was my first visit to this show and it was pretty impressive. There were endless breathtaking options in furnishings and décor.
The Christopher Guy showroom had, by far, the most amazing furniture and was the most beautifully put together showroom of the Market. It was made up of several rooms, each more spectacular than the one before. Each piece is well thought out with attention paid to architecture, scale, colour, material, texture and purpose.
Each time I look at my photos, I notice something new. What did I learn here? Layering a room can be done so subtly that we don’t even notice it. Here are some photos of the Christopher Guy collection.
